Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. You can use 5km without signing up or signing in. Your running records and settings are stored on your device.
My distance or route is not being recorded.
Check that 5km has Location and Precise Location access in iOS Settings. GPS can be less accurate indoors or between tall buildings. Location tracking begins when you start a run.
Does tracking continue when the screen is locked?
During an active run, background location keeps recording your route. Force-quitting the app can interrupt recording. Use the app’s Finish control when your run is over.
How do I change voice guidance or the metronome?
Open the app’s Settings to change the voice, update interval, target pace, and metronome beat, sound, or volume. Use Preview to try them. English guidance uses iOS voices. Korean AI voice packs are available when the app is in Korean.
How do I change the language or units?
5km supports English and Korean, following the app’s language setting in iOS. You can open iOS Settings from the Language section in the app. Distances use kilometers and meters, pace is shown per kilometer, and weight uses kilograms.
Can I delete or restore a run?
Open a run from History and choose Delete run. There is no developer-operated account or cloud sync, so the developer cannot restore your records. Save any photos or information you need before deleting the app. Restoring an iOS backup depends on your device and backup settings.
Where are my photos stored?
Running photo cards are created on your device. You can save them to Photos or share them to an app you choose. Copies saved in Photos can remain after you delete a run.
